The deal, in plain words.

This site is run by Pursuit Labs, LLC, a Florida company. By using it you agree to what follows. If anything here is unclear, email hello@thevadisabilityhack.com before you buy.

What this is

Education and research. We explain how the VA rates conditions, how secondary and presumptive conditions work, what the Board of Veterans' Appeals has decided in published cases, and how to put a claim together. What we show you is built from the Board's published decisions and the VA's own published rules, not from anything about you.

What this is not

• We are not a law firm, not a Veterans Service Organization, and not accredited by the VA. We do not prepare, present, or prosecute claims, and we do not represent you before the VA. You can always prepare and file your own claim. What the rule restricts is doing it for someone else: only a VA-accredited representative, agent, or attorney may prepare, present, or prosecute a claim for another person (38 CFR 14.629(b)(1)). The one exception is a person you name to help with a single claim for no fee (38 CFR 14.630). You also have the right to a representative of your choice at every stage (38 CFR 3.103(e)). We are not accredited and we do neither. Help from a VSO is free. An accredited attorney or agent may generally charge a fee only for work after the VA has decided the claim once (38 CFR 14.636(c)), with narrow exceptions in 14.636(d) for a home loan case and for a fee paid by a disinterested third party.

• Nothing here is legal or medical advice, and nothing here is a diagnosis. Talk to a doctor about your health and to an accredited representative about your claim.
• We do not promise any rating, any outcome, or any amount of money. The VA decides your claim, not us.

What you buy

A condition pack is one file about one condition, written before you buy it and the same for everyone who buys it. It is built from the decisions the Board of Veterans' Appeals has published and from the rating criteria the VA publishes, and it is not built from anything about you. We do not ask for your records, your VA login or your medical details, and a pack does not contain any. The price is $15 for each pack, one time. You pay with a card on this site and we never see the card. We email the download link to the address you pay with, usually within a minute. The link does not expire and you can have it sent again at any time. Your copy carries your email address on it. It is for your personal use, and passing it on is not allowed.

No refunds

A pack is a file you can read in full the moment you have it, so all sales are final and there are no refunds. Every pack has a page saying what is in it, and every condition on this site has a free page, so read both before you pay. If we do refund one, that download link stops working, and anything you already opened, saved or printed stays yours. We will email you when that happens. If a pack does not arrive, email us and we will make it right.

Accuracy

Rating criteria and regulations come from the Code of Federal Regulations, as published in the eCFR. Board decisions are quoted from the VA's own public files. But rules change, and we can make mistakes. Check anything you rely on against the source we link, and tell us if you find an error.

Be honest

This site teaches you to claim what is real and to document it well. Do not use it to exaggerate or fabricate a claim. That harms you, and it harms every veteran behind you.

Your account

Buying a pack needs no account. You give an email address at the payment form, we send the download link there, and that is the whole of it. Some veterans still have an account from an earlier version of this site, and those still work. See our privacy page for what we store and how to delete it.

Changes and law

We may update these terms. When we do, the date below changes. If you keep using the site after an update, you accept the new terms. Florida law governs these terms.
